Cornhole is back!

Get ready for some wild bean bag action as SDFC is hosting its fourth annual cornhole tournament! Cornhole Bowl IV will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Copper Blues at the NEC of Rural Road & University Drive in Tempe.  We will be featuring a single daytime tournament with teams broken down into two groups…amateurs and professionals.  Depending on your skill level, you have the option to register for either tournament but not both since they will be running at the same time.  We are also offering three sponsorship options this year.  Details for everything can be found below.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.
Here are some common questions about Cornhole Bowl IV.

What is cornhole?

Cornhole is a game that requires you to toss bean bags onto a game board that sits 27 feet away. The rectangular game boards measure 48″ x 24″ and have a 6″ diameter hole cut out. The goal is to land the bean bag on the board which is worth 1 point or sink it in the hole which is worth 3 points. You play with a partner against another 2-person team and the first team to 21 points wins.

What time should I arrive the day of the tournament?

Registration starts at 10:30AM so you can arrive then if you’d like.  Otherwise, try to be there by 11:30AM so that we can be sure everyone is checked in and can start the tournament on time at noon.

Should I register for the amateur or professional tournament?

It’s really up to you and how comfortable you are with your skill level.  If you only play every once in a while, you’re better off in the amateur tournament.  But if you play in other tournaments on a regular basis, you might like the competition in the professional tournament.

What is the tournament format?

The tournament will begin with pool play which will allow the tournament organizers to property seed the teams based on wins & losses during pool play.  Once the teams are seeded, the official tournament begins which will be double elimination.
